All Sky Camera
I am currently building an all-sky camera to capture images of the sky as visible from my backyard. An ZWO ASI224MC camera is connected via a USB3 cable to a Raspberry Pi3 server running software that captures images every minute and store them on a microSD card. Once a day, a cron script in the software posts these images to this website so I (and you) can view them, both real time and previous conditions for the past several days.

The all-sky camera software was developed by Thomas Aquinas and made available on GitHub. It saves images of the sky every minute and generates a time lapse video from those images. It also generates a keogram. Click the button below to visit the page devoted to the all-sky camera.

Current Weather
Current weather conditions are shown below. The station is located in the headwaters of Limestone Run, a tributary to Penns Creek near the town of Mifflinburg, which is in Union County, Pennsylvania (USA).
Monitoring
Weather is monitored continuously using a Davis Instrument's Vantage Pro™ weather station located in our front yard. Instruments include a tipping bucket rain gage, barometer, anemometer (wind speed and direction), pyrometer (solar radiation), air temperature, relative humidity, and soil temperature and soil moisture lysimeter.

Data Collection
The Vantage Pro™ weather station has a solar panel and wireless transmitter which sends the data to a small table-top console in the house. The console is equipped with a Davis Weatherlink™ IP dongle connected to the internet router via a Cat4 cable.

Davis Instrument's WeatherLink™ software is also running on a Windows server, which then stores the data locally on a hard drive as well as uploads to Davis' Instruments WeatherLink™ cloud servers. One of my irritations with Davis Instruments is that you have to have a paid WeatherLink™ account in order to access the data online and view it one their dashboard (which is really great). That's frustrating.
